# AVOCADO-CHOCOLATE MUSH
**Serves 4**

**Avocados and chocolate? Two great tastes that taste great together? Try it to believe it!**

**KITCHEN TALK:** Ripe avocados have bumpy, dark green skin and feel like an inflated basketball. They are firm, with just a little give, when squeezed. To check if the avocado is overripe, remove the brown stub of the stem. If it is green underneath, you have a winner. If it is brown underneath, it is overripe. Ask a grown-up for help blending and using the knife.

### Ingredients
* 1 large ripe avocado
* ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
* ½ cup milk of your choice
* ½ cup pure maple syrup
* 1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
* ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
* Fresh berries or chopped fruit, for serving (optional)

### Instructions
1. Use a knife to cut around the pit of the avocado, starting at the top where the stem was and working all the way around. Twist the two sides until they come apart. Pick up the side with the pit and bend it backward until the pit comes out easily, then throw away the pit. Scoop the green inside of the avocado out of the skin into a food processor or blender.
2. Add the cocoa powder, almond milk, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt. Process for 30 seconds, then scrape down the sides of the food processor bowl with a rubber spatula and process for 1 more minute, until the mush is super smooth.
3. Scoop the mush into four bowls, dividing it evenly. Top with berries or other fruit, if you like, and enjoy immediately!
